Relaxing Mayne and Saturna Islands offer a delightful balance of marine activities and the quiet pastoral charm of less developed Gulf Islands. This cruise is designed to relax and pamper guests as they enjoy all the comforts of the Pacific Yellowfin.
To reach the yacht:
1. fly to Vancouver, then board or take a seaplane to meet the yacht in the Gulf Islands.
2. fly to Victoria International Airport.
Sailing from the Vancouver area, we cruise past a wall of sea lions as we enter the Strait of Georgia. The Pacific Yellowfin will maneuver through scenic Active Pass watching for BC Ferries and a myriad of other fascinating marine traffic in this busy pass.
The next day, cycle on Mayne Island. Rolling with gentle hills and quiet landscapes, this island offers a complete escape from the demands of work. Explore the countryside and know that there is a great deli serving hearty lunches. The other equally pleasurable alternative is to stay on board the Pacific Yellowfin and take full advantage of the water sports. Ask the crew for history on the other adjacent islands.
Enjoy a day of wine tasting on Saturna Island. It doesnt take much convincing to encourage the crew to visit the eleven-acre Cabbage Island Marine Park. Beachcombing is a popular activity on this island as very unusual treasures have washed ashore.
On the Dominion Day weekend, the Pacific Yellowfin joins many other boats that anchor off Saturna Beach for the annual Lamb Barbecue. Enjoy a mini-eco tour and excellent bird watching along the island coastlines. Return to Vancouver by a spectacular seaplane ride. |
