HISTORY
This classic wooden coastal freighter was built in 1943 in maine with traditional plank on frame construction. The Pacific Yellowfin has a fascinating place in marine history: as a working vessel for the us military (reportedly including a role in the bay of pigs crisis), in the amazon, and as a california hydrographic and deep-sea fisheries research vessel.
These traditions can be fully appreciated on a cruise of the scenic Gulf Islands, off Vancouver Island, in the Vancouver Harbour or an extended outing to Alaska. From the fabled medieval Griffin on the funnel, to the fine linens, to the impressive engine room, and the view from the wheelhouse, the Pacific Yellowfin offers the utmost in comfort and a very real sense of tradition and history. Built before the era of mass production, the Pacific Yellowfin experience offers unique design, ample attention to fine detail, and the sheer joy of cruising on an exceptional historic yacht.
