Victoria is one to the most charming cities in North America. With its ageless traditions, spectacular gardens, and wonderful shopping and restaurants, what could be more fun than spending a weekend on board the Pacific Yellowfin with time to explore this delightful city.
Rendezvous with the Pacific Yellowfin in Saanich Inlet on a sunny afternoon for an olde English tea and a tour of the world famous Buchart Gardens. Dinner at the Deep Cover Chalet completes this evening tour of the Saanich peninsula. The quiet waters of this inlet are absolutely perfect for a restful night's sleep.
Wake-up to a breakfast buffet and the scenic waters nearing Swartz Bay as the Pacific Yellowfin heads towards Sydney and the Victoria Inner Harbor. The next four or five hours are a glorious cruise down the coastline of Vancouver Island. Enjoy the wonderful homes, farms that roll to the edge of the water, small islands and the most unbelievable view of the Olympic Mountains in the State of Washington.
Victoria's Inner Harbour is alive with boats and seaplanes as the Pacific Yellowfin arrives late in the afternoon. Share in the majesty of the Empress Hotel. Wander through the nearby shops and enjoy a dinner at any number of the fine restaurants in the inner harbour. Find time to explore the Provincial Museum, stroll through parks and imagine living in the fine Victorian homes that define this area. As Victoria is the provincial capital, the parliament buildings are another signature element of this busy Inner Harbour.
Enjoy a wake-up brunch on the Pacific Yellowfin and take a river cruise up the Gorge waterway by kayak or in the twenty-one foot power launch. Kingfishers and the blue heron are often spotted along this water way. The crew of the Pacific Yellowfin are knowledgeable in the tidal patterns of this area. Another suggested activity is to explore the Esquimalt harbour that is rich in navel history and tradition as the homeport for the Royal Canadian Navy. Leave the Pacific Yellowfin, in the midst of this Island tradition, the next afternoon by seaplane. |
