Governed by the @CoastalFirstNations, including the Wuikinuxv, Heiltsuk, Kitasoo Xai’xais, Nuxalk, Gitga’at, Gitxaala, Metlakatla, Old Massett, Skidegate, and the Council of the Haida Nation, this region is one of the last vast coastal temperate rainforests on the planet.

Its unique ecosystems, where land, sea, and freshwater converge, foster the growth of ancient forests nourished by nutrient-rich salmon, support rare white Spirit Bears, and offer sanctuary to Pacific coastal wolves adapted to marine hunting. 🐻🐺
